Inversion Tables

I had heard a bit about inversion tables from talking to other people with disc degeneration and from a shopping channel on TV.

Basically, inversion therapy involves being upside down which provides therapeutic benefits.  You strap yourself onto an inversion table by your ankles and then, slowly raising your arms, you go from being upright to being totally upside down.  The first few times you do this you may not want to go fully upside down as it can be a strange sensation.

Here is what an inversion table looks like

When you are fully inverted on your inversion table you will feel your back stretching and this will provide you with some relief from your pain if you use your inversion table on a daily basis.

To return from the inverted, upside down position, all you have to do is lower your arms back down again towards your legs.  The rate at which you raise and lower your arms controls how fast you move on the table.

My inversion table is really helping me manage my back pain.  If I use it for a few minutes morning and night, then my pain is more manageable.  Also, if I am experiencing a flare up then I will sometimes use my inversion table during the day.

You can click on this link to see the various inversion tables and read the reviews for them yourself: Inversion Tables from Amazon
As usual, Amazon have free delivery available on all inversion tables and they are usually delivered within a few days.

There is a little bit of building to do to the inversion table when it first arrives, but it doesn't take long.  My inversion table also came with a DVD which I watched before using it for the first time.  IT gave simple pointers on how to use your inversion table for the first time and how to do so safely.

What I love about my inversion table is that it actually doesn't take up that much room in my bedroom.  You can actually fold it away when it is not in use, but as I use mine every day, morning and night, I find that there is little point in putting it away.
